Rebecca A.
Private tutor in Columbia, SC
Education
I'm a junior Marine Science major at the University of South Carolina, Columbia and I have a 3.7 GPA.
Experience
I took AP Calculus AB and then AP Calculus BC. I got a four in BC and a five in AB. When I got to college I took Calculus 1 and Calculus 2 and got A's in both classes. I want to be a tutor because I enjoy helping people in subjects that are not necessarily their strong point. I've had tutors in other subjects in the past and I know how essential they can be to receiving a good grade in a class. I received the McKissick Scholarship from the University of South Carolina and have been on Dean's List (awarded to individuals with a minimum GPA of 3.5) for four semesters. Additionally, I made President's List my Freshman year (minimum 4.0 GPA). I have tutored people in Calculus in the past unofficially and have gotten positive feedback from those I've helped. Through my work with individuals with developmental disabilities, I've learned how to explain concepts in a clear, step-by-step fashion.
